Blame has been passed around for the manufacturing and selling of tainted medicine that killed over fifty people in Panama. Chinese government officials claimed that the company which made the diethyl glycol that was placed in the medicine was not subject to oversight by state medical inspectors. Additionally, the owner of a Spanish firm claimed innocence for his company which received the diethyl glycol and subsequently distributed it to a Panamanian drug company.In the meantime, families of victims poisoned by the fake medicine have increased pressure on the Panamanian government to “seek justice and lay blame on those responsible.”
