Here we go again- Chavez insults Alan Garcia

Hugo Chavez resumed his verbal assaults on Peruvian president-elect Alan Garcia (image) by calling Garcia a “lap dog” of the U.S. and threatening to cut off ties with Peru after Garcia is inaugurated. Earlier this year, Garcia called Chavez a hypocrite based on his economic dealings and Chavez replied by calling Garcia a corrupt thief.

I really do not know what to think about Chavez, but next sunday the election will take place here in Mexico and there are only two possibilities: AMLO and Calderón, it is a strong rumour here that AMLO's campain is being supported by Chavez but it is only a rumour. Both, López Obrador and Calderon, represent different political positions, so it will be interesting to see who wins and what happens.

The worst part of the rumor (aside from convincing evidence to verify it) is that Calderon has exploited it is to his advantage through his advertisements. The rumor is all part of the unfortunate and pathetic mudslinging going on between the candidates.

Also, don't forget that Madrazo is still not out of it. Even though he's several points behind Calderon and AMLO anything is possible in mexican elections (see Cardenas "losing" in 1988).
