Fujimori seeks return to Peru to stand in elections

Former Peruvian President Alberto Fujimori, currently in self-imposed exile in Tokyo, has said he will return to Peru in time to run in April's presidential elections. Peruvian prosecutors wish to try him on human rights abuses however, and officials have said that he will be arrested upon setting foot in the country. (The Guardian)

If Alan Garcia was close to winning the previous Peruvian election, then Fujimori's chances may not be so slim.
